The North Pontotoc Vikings will take on the Eupora Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. North Pontotoc is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.2 runs per game this season.

North Pontotoc fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Myrtle on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 8-7.

Hailey Pitts spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and five unearned) runs on eight hits.

On the hitting side, Evie Coker led a balanced group of hitters, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Lacie Simmons, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Eupora waltzed into their game on Monday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. Everything went their way against the Rams as they made off with an 18-1 victory. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by ten runs or more this season.

Eupora's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for North Pontotoc, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.
