Softball Game Preview: Scranton Prep Cavaliers vs. Abington Heights Comets

For the second straight game, Scranton Prep will face off against Abington Heights. The Cavaliers will square off against the Comets at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Scranton Prep has given up an average of 9.2 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Scranton Prep fell victim to Abington Heights and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Comets, falling 11-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Cavaliers in their meetings with the Comets: they've now lost seven in a row.

For Abington Heights' part, Laurenp Stalica made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. Stalica has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Isabelle Wilmot, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Cecelia O'Malley, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
