Volleyball Recap: Marysville Bulldogs vs. Wellsville Eagles
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Marysville had no problem doing just that on Monday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Wellsville Eagles. The victory was some much needed relief for the Bulldogs as it spelled an end to their 11-game losing streak.
While Marysville won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-22.
Lindsey Dressman paced Marysville's offense, picking up eight kills. Dressman got some help from
Aubrey Dressman and her 17 assists.
Marysville's win bumped their record up to 12-20. As for Wellsville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-22 record this season.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Nemaha Central the next time they take the court. Wellsville will head out to face Nemaha Central at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, while Marysville will play them later in the day, at 5:00 p.m.
