Basketball Game Preview: East Grand Rapids Pioneers vs. Zeeland East Chix

The East Grand Rapids Pioneers will take on the Zeeland East Chix in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Having struggled with five losses in a row dating back to last season, East Grand Rapids turned things around against Allendale on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged the Falcons out 64-61.

Meanwhile, Zeeland East entered their game against Waverly on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Zeeland East fell 64-55 to Waverly.

East Grand Rapids' first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Zeeland East, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 3-2.

Things could have been worse for East Grand Rapids, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 49-30 loss to Zeeland East in their previous matchup back in March of 2021. Can East Grand Rapids avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
