It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Legacy had no problem doing just that on Friday. They walked away with a 4-0 win over San Fernando. The victory was nothing new for Legacy as they're now sitting on nine straight.
The result came thanks to Savannah Medina's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up 16 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Katelen Pedroza and Brianna Gonzalez did most of the damage at the plate: Pedroza went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Gonzalez went 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI.
Legacy's record now sits at 22-7. As for San Fernando, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-17.
Looking ahead, Legacy will take on Garfield at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 9.8 runs per game this season. San Fernando does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
