Softball Recap: Estancia Comes Up Short

Estancia fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against La Quinta on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Aztecs by a score of 13-12. Even though they lost, the Eagles' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.4 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Estancia got a massive performance out of Heather Fultz, who scored three runs and stole four bases while getting on base in three of her six plate appearances. That's the most runs Fultz has posted since back in April of 2024. Devoni Bustos also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Estancia's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for La Quinta, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Estancia wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 14-2 win against Corona del Mar on the 28th. As for La Quinta, they have also already played their next contest, a 13-0 defeat against Santa Ana Valley on the 28th.
