Soccer Recap: Grand Island Takes a Loss

Grand Island fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Lincoln High on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Links by a score of 1-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Lincoln High this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 on Saturday.

Grand Island has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Lincoln High, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-4.

Grand Island wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Columbus on the 25th. As for Lincoln High, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Lincoln Southeast on the 25th.
