Softball Recap: Prairie Heights Takes a Loss

Prairie Heights extended their losing streak to four on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 6-14 in the process. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the North Judson-San Pierre Bluejays. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Panthers have suffered since April 10th.

Prairie Heights saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emily McCrea, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run and two RBI. Another was Bailee Godsey, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

As for North Judson-San Pierre, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-11. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since May 15, 2024.

On North Judson-San Pierre's side, Lexi Howard and Kenya Cooper did most of the damage at the plate: Howard fired off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-4, while Cooper fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-4. Those two home runs gave Cooper a new career-high. Catlin Hammack was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Prairie Heights didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-5 win against Jimtown on the 19th. As for North Judson-San Pierre, they have also already played their next match, a 16-6 loss against Wheeler on the 20th.
