You might not recognize the power rankings this week after a busy last week rearranged the teams a whole lot. That and more in this week's report.
Can't Touch This
Mashpee got a 21 - 20 win over Abington last week, and a key reason for the win was senior Devaun Ford. Ford ran for 150 yards and also punched in two touchdowns. In fact, our algorithms singled out Ford as one of the top players in the power rankings for the week.
This Week's Big Showdown
The confrontation between Pinkerton (20th in the power rankings) and Salem (25th) did not disappoint. Pinkerton and Salem were almost perfectly matched up, but Pinkerton suffered an agonizing 15 - 14 defeat. Pinkerton lost a lot of ground in this match: the team forfeited seven spots in the power rankings.
Can't Stop Won't Stop
Bedford has been an offensive powerhouse for four straight weeks after the team lit up the scoreboard again last week. Everything went its way against Manchester Central as it secured a 45 - 0 win. Bedford did have the odds in its favor, but the team did even better than the MaxPreps state rankings indicated. With five consecutive wins, Bedford boasts the longest winning streak of any team in the rankings.
