Basketball Recap: Make It 11 in a Row for Richland

Richland waltzed into their match on Friday with ten straight wins... but they left with 11. They claimed a resounding 67-21 win over the Hampshire Hawks. The Raiders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 22 points or more this season.

Leading Richland to victory were Bailey Blair and Shelby Higgins. Blair went 5 for 8 en route to 12 points in addition to six assists and five steals, while Higgins went 6 of 10 to rack up 17 points. Mary Avery Mcneese was another key player, putting up eight points.

Richland smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive rebound total in three consecutive games.

Richland pushed their record up to 22-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points over those games. As for Hampshire, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.

Looking ahead, Richland is taking a road trip to face off against Culleoka at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hampshire, they will square off against Santa Fe at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
