St. Charles East came out on top against Geneva on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run fifth inning. The Fighting Saints' pitcher stepped up to hand the Vikings a 13-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Fighting Saints, who have now won 11 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Addison Wolf was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with three doubles, two runs, and two RBI. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hayden Sujack, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

St. Charles East hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive contests.

St. Charles East has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a massive bump to their 19-14 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Geneva, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 13 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-21 record this season.
