Basketball Recap: Chester Skates Past Brookland-Cayce with Ease

While Chester didn't have the best season last year (they finished 3-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat the Brookland-Cayce Bearcats 54-25. The Cyclones have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 29 points or more this season.

Despite the loss, Brookland-Cayce had strong showings from Maci Cobb, who posted seven points and seven rebounds, and Dalacia Rouse, who earned eight points in addition to seven boards and three steals. Rouse is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of KeAirah Taylor, who had no points, to go along with five boards and three steals.

The victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.5 points per game. As for Brookland-Cayce, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

Chester will welcome Ware Shoals at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Brookland-Cayce, they are taking a road trip to face off against Bethune-Bowman at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
