Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask South-Doyle). They blew past the Lenoir City Panthers 11-5 on Tuesday. The Cherokees haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive  victory against them.
 Gabe Jones was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   pitching four innings while giving up just two earned runs off   four  hits. The dominant performance also gave  him a new career-high in  strikeouts (three). He was also stellar in the batter's box,  scoring three  runs and  stealing  Two bases. while going 3-for-4. He also  brought in three  RBI, marking his first of the season.
 In other batting news, South-Doyle got a big performance out of  Landon Bates, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances.  Holden Lowe was another key player,  scoring a  run and  stealing  Two bases. while going 1-for-3.
 South-Doyle was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .387. That's the best  batting average they've posted all season.
South-Doyle's record is now 3-4-1. As for Lenoir City, they dropped their record down to 1-8 with the  loss, which was their third straight  on the road.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South-Doyle will challenge Halls at 5:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. As for Lenoir City, they will face off against Heritage at 6:00  p.m.  on Monday.
