The JW North Huskies will challenge the Irvine Vaqueros at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.
JW North is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out Western Christian 9-8. That's two games straight that the Huskies have won by just one run.

Anela Kinnevey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned (and two unearned) runs on 11 hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Audrina Camacho was incredible, going 1-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Xochitl Frias, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: JW North kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in eight consecutive matchups.
Highland typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday Irvine proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 8-4.
Midori De Los Santos was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up four earned runs off eight hits. De Los Santos was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Harper Vandermolen, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Jocelyn Knerr also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.
JW North's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-10. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Irvine, their record now sits at 10-16.
