Baseball Recap: Piedmont Highlanders vs. Castro Valley Trojans
Piedmont fell victim to Castro Valley and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trojans. The Highlanders were not able to make up for their loss to the Trojans from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.
Piedmont got a good showing from George Bishop, who tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Bishop has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in nine consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Piedmont saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Will Parker, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles.
This is the second loss in a row for Piedmont and nudges their season record down to 12-6. As for Castro Valley, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.
