 Goliad is 7-0 against George West since March of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success  on Monday. The Goliad Tigers have the luxury  of staying home for another  game and will welcome the George West Longhorns at 6:00  p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
 Last Tuesday, Goliad narrowly escaped with a  win as the  squad sidled past Mathis  5-4.
 Meanwhile, George West had to endure  a  six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They won by a  run and slipped past Aransas Pass  8-7. The  victory was just what George West needed coming off of  a  19-7 defeat in their prior  matchup.
 George West let  Lily Castaniero and  Makayla Jaramillo loose on the outfield. Castaniero  scored a  run while going 3-for-3, while  Jaramillo  got on base  in three of her five plate appearances with a  triple, a  stolen base,  and a  run. Another player making a difference was  Jenna Lee, who  scored two  runs while going 2-for-4.
 Goliad's win was  their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 6-8. Those good results were due in large part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 9.4 runs per game. As for George West, their victory  ended  a  five-game drought on the road  and  puts them at 6-11.
 Goliad took their  win against George West  when the teams last played  back in April of 2023 by a conclusive  13-5. Will Goliad repeat their success,  or does  George West have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
