Softball Recap: Sabetha Has No Trouble Against Royal Valley

Sabetha hadn't done well against Royal Valley recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Bluejays blew past the Panthers 11-3. This was a revenge game for the Bluejays: when they faced off against the Panthers on Monday, they had to take a 5-2 defeat.

Sabetha let Jyllian Stapleton and Erin Boltz run wild. Stapleton went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Boltz went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four RBI gave Stapleton a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kiera Keim, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Sabetha kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are 8-3 when they post 11 or more hits.

The victory got Sabetha back to even at 11-11. As for Royal Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Sabetha is set to take on their familiar foe Silver Lake at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Royal Valley will square off against rival Perry-Lecompton at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
