Basketball Game Preview: Maine West Warriors vs. Niles North Vikings

Maine West hasn't had much luck against Niles North recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Maine West Warriors will challenge the Niles North Vikings at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Maine West comes in on three and Niles North on four.

Last Tuesday, Maine West beat Larkin 57-49.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Niles North). They blew past Yorkville Christian 102-77 on Wednesday. The Vikings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 21 points or more this season.

Niles North pushed their record up to 17-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.8 points per game. As for Maine West, the win got them back to even at 10-10.

Maine West was taken down by Niles North 86-40 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can Maine West avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
