Basketball Recap: West Vigo Takes a Loss

West Vigo suffered their closest defeat since February 27, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of the Edgewood Mustangs by a score of 61-58. The Vikings haven't had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Edgewood found their leader in sophomore Caden Jones, who almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jones has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Carson Huttenlocker, who posted 13 points and three steals.

West Vigo's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Edgewood, their victory bumped their record up to 8-6.

West Vigo will take on Marshall at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Marshall is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.1 points per game this season. As for Edgewood, they will face off against Bloomington North at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Bloomington North also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 52 points per game.
