Basketball Recap: Father Mcgivney Catholic Falls Despite Big Games from Zoe Oller and Emme Mcgaughey

Father McGivney Catholic had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell 64-57 to the Waterloo Bulldogs. The Griffins were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

Despite the loss, Father McGivney Catholic had strong showings from Emme McGaughey, who went 7-for-14 on her way to 20 points, and Zoe Oller, who posted 16 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals. Myleigh Rodgers was another key player, putting up six points.

Father McGivney Catholic wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 54-25 victory against Greenville on the 20th. As for Waterloo, they have also already played their next matchup, a 54-19 defeat against Belleville East on the 20th.
