Softball Recap: Plano East Continues Road Dominance on Monday

Plano East had won four straight on the road, but on Monday they bumped their record up to 22-9 to make it five. They came out on top against the Allen Eagles by a score of 9-5. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since March 12, 2019, but that streak is no more.

Jadyn Dawson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off eight hits. Dawson was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Kayleigh Miller was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Chloe Lee was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

As for Allen, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-17-1 record this season. Eagles fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against Plano East since on Monday.

On Allen's side, Chandler Chisum made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run. That home run was Chisum's first of the season.

Plano East does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Allen, they will challenge Flower Mound at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Jaguars' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
