The King's Way Christian Knights will face off against the Stevenson Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. King's Way Christian has given up an average of 11.6 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
La Center hit King's Way Christian with a six-run fifth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Knights lost 13-3 to the Wildcats. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
King's Way Christian saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ashley Mill, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Stevenson). They blew past Corbett 24-5 on Friday. The win was familiar territory for the Bulldogs, who have now won three matchups in a row.
Rebecca Townsend was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Cayden Hulsey-Bible, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
Stevenson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Stevenson's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for King's Way Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.
Stevenson's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. King's Way Christian has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.1 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Stevenson, though, as they've been averaging only 2.3 strikeouts. Will King's Way Christian keep running through batters, or will the Bulldogs buck the trend?
