Basketball Recap: Heritage Christian Piles Up the Points Against Holy Redeemer

Heritage Christian's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 81-44 victory over Holy Redeemer. That looming 81-44 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Patriots yet this season.

Heritage Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Eddie Riebe out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 24 points and nine rebounds. Those 24 points gave Riebe a new career-high. Jordan Draeger was another key player, going 8 of 10 on his way to 17 points.

Heritage Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in eight consecutive contests.

Heritage Christian's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Holy Redeemer, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Heritage Christian will head out to take on Madison West at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Madison West's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. Holy Redeemer and Obama Career & Tech/Young Coggs will round out the year against one another at at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
