Soccer Game Preview: Desert Ridge vs. Queen Creek

The Desert Ridge Jaguars will challenge the Queen Creek Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Desert Ridge has five straight wins, Queen Creek has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Desert Ridge will bounce into Friday's matchup after beating Highland, who they had gone 0-8-1 against in their nine prior meetings. Desert Ridge had just enough and edged Highland out 3-2. That's two games straight that the Jaguars have won by just one goal.

Maxwell Parker and Caden Dye scored all three of Desert Ridge's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 20 goals.

Meanwhile, Queen Creek fell victim to Williams Field and their airtight defense on Monday. They lost 4-0 to the Black Hawks.

Desert Ridge has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 24 goals over those eight contests. As for Queen Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7-1.

Desert Ridge was able to grind out a solid victory over Queen Creek when the teams last played back in January of 2024, winning 2-0. Will Desert Ridge repeat their success, or does Queen Creek have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
