Basketball Recap: Wasatch Wasps vs. Timpview Thunderbirds
Wasatch was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 59-39 to the Timpview Thunderbirds. The matchup marked the Wasps' lowest-scoring game so far this season.
Dean Rueckert was his usual excellent self, going 6 of 12 en route to 18 points and seven boards for Timpview. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Openshaw, who went 5 for 7 on his way to 13 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.
Wasatch's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Timpview, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wasatch will challenge Orem at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Orem knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 contests -- so hopefully Wasatch likes a good challenge. As for Timpview, they will square off against Cedar Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Timpview is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 66.1 points per game this season.
