Basketball Recap: Blue Valley Southwest Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Wesley Abraham and Eli Mick

Blue Valley Southwest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost to the St. James Academy Thunder on the road by a 61-46 margin. The Timberwolves were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Thunder apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Blue Valley Southwest had strong showings from Eli Mick, who posted 16 points and five assists, and Wesley Abraham, who went 6 of 10 en route to 13 points and seven rebounds. Braden Gibson also deserves some recognition as he pulled down his first board of the season.

Leading St. James Academy to victory were Emmitt Peters and Jacob Fratzel. Peters earned 22 points and seven boards, while Fratzel went 5 for 7 on his way to 12 points and six assists. Those seven rebounds gave Peters a new career-high. Matthew Davis was another key player, putting up eight points.

Blue Valley Southwest's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for St. James Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-3.
