Recap: Weeki Wachee Hornets vs. Springstead Eagles
The Weeki Wachee Hornets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Springstead, falling 78-48. Weeki Wachee found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and post 15 fewer assists than your opponent.
Several Hornets players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Arthur Madden, who scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Priester, who scored 14 points.
Niko Cordello was the offensive standout of the matchup as he scored 13 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Another player making a difference was Nick Cordero, who scored 12 points.
Weeki Wachee's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Springstead, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Weeki Wachee will head out on the road to face off against East Lake at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully East Lake focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Tuesday. As for Springstead, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Central at 7:30 p.m.
