Football Recap: Surry County Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Friday just wasn't the day for Surry County's offense. They took a blow against the Sussex Central Tigers on Friday, falling 48-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Cougars in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost eight in a row.

Sussex Central's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Malcolm Bivens, who rushed for 143 yards and three TDs on only nine carries. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Bivens a new career-high. Jamar Gatling also helped out as he racked up 117 rushing yards.

Surry County's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Sussex Central, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-1.

While Surry County had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
