Softball Recap: Coginchaug Regional Takes a Loss

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Coginchaug Regional's offense. They fell just short of the Hale Ray Noises by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Noises this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-3 back in April.

Emily Allen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances.

Coginchaug Regional's loss dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Hale Ray, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 17-3.

Coginchaug Regional does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hale Ray, they will welcome Cromwell at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
