Kaylee McDonald was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). McDonald has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 15 consecutive pitching appearances. McDonald was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI.
McDonald wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Emma Buckner, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Makenzie Williams was another key contributor, scoring three runs while going 2-for-4.
Barton's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Des Arc, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-4.
