Basketball Recap: Pinnacle Classical Academy Comes Up Short

Pinnacle Classical Academy extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping them down to 1-4. They lost 76-51 to the Community Christian Academy Warriors. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Pinnacle Classical Academy lost, don't look at Braylon Gentry. Despite the final result, he shot 50% from the field on his way to 30 points and six boards. Thanks to that strong game, Gentry now owns an excellent 45.5% shooting accuracy. Ashilyn Lee was another key player, going 6-for-14 en route to 15 points.

As for Community Christian Academy, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.6 points over those games.

Leading Community Christian Academy to victory were Chaden Poole and JeKobe Floyd. Poole dropped a double-double with 27 points and 12 rebounds, while Floyd posted 26 points and four steals. The matchup was Poole's fifth in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bradley Cruzan, who had seven points.

Pinnacle Classical Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 72-34 loss against Cherryville on the 25th. As for Community Christian Academy, they will host Christian Family Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors' defense better be ready for this one: the Fire have averaged an impressive 64.2 points per game this season.
