Volleyball Recap: Kodiak Bears vs. Palmer Moose
Kodiak was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Palmer Moose. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Moose this season, with their most recent loss being a 3-1 defeat on Friday.
Kodiak was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Palmer work for it, especially in the fourth set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 23-25, 25-12, 29-27.
Maggie Hubert paced Kodiak's offense, picking up eight kills. Hubert got some help from Fremela Garcia and her 13 assists. Angeli Doctolero controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
Palmer was led to victory by Kasey Frank and Audrey Cahill. Frank had 14 digs, while Cahill had nine digs and eight kills. Cahill is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had five or more in each of the last eight games she's played.
Kodiak's loss dropped their record down to 5-28-3. As for Palmer, they pushed their record up to 19-15-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.
Kodiak does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Palmer, they will square off against Wasilla at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
