Baseball Game Preview: Springboro Panthers vs. Centerville Elks

For the second straight game, Springboro will face off against Centerville. The Panthers will venture away from home to take on the Elks at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Springboro 2.9, Centerville 2.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Springboro is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 13 runs on Monday, they were much more limited against Centerville on Wednesday. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Elks. The Panthers' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

The victory was the 16th in a row for Centerville, bringing their record up to 18-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Springboro, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-4.
