Volleyball Recap: Lecanto Takes a Loss + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Lecanto can now relate to. They came up short against the Gainesville Hurricanes on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Panthers have struggled against the Hurricanes recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Lecanto's offense was headlined by Aleena Borgus and Devin Pulham, who picked up six kills apiece. They got some help from Amelia Ebert and her 16 assists. Allie Shaw controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Among those leading the charge was Addyson Hauptman, who had ten digs and five assists. Kenzie Carter-Mitchell also deserves some recognition as she served her first aces of the season.

Lecanto's defeat dropped their record down to 15-10. As for Gainesville, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-8 record this season.

Lecanto does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Gainesville, after both having extra time off, they and Jensen Beach will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
