Baseball Recap: Eagan Takes a Loss

Eagan entered their game against Apple Valley on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Wildcats fell 6-1 to the Eagles. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 11-10 to the Eagles when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Eagan saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Will Mitchell, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that Mitchell has hit this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Eagan and nudges their season record down to 4-3. As for Apple Valley, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.

When Eagan and Apple Valley next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. The Wildcats will challenge Shakopee and their three-game winning streak at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Eagan 3, the Sabers 1.5) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Apple Valley will try to stop Prior Lake's three-game winning streak when they meet at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
