Preview: Sylvan-Lucas Mustangs vs. Logan/Palco
Sylvan-Lucas has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against The Logan/Palco at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Sylvan-Lucas is not getting complacent, as they comes into the match much higher ranked than Logan/Palco in Kansas (Sylvan-Lucas is ranked 29th, while Logan/Palco is ranked 89th).
Last Friday, Sylvan-Lucas was beaten by Victoria 54-12.
Meanwhile, Logan/Palco took a serious blow against Wallace County on Friday, falling 60-18. Logan/Palco has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Logan/Palco saw an underclassman step up: Carson Knipp rushed for 54 yards and two touchdowns.
The losses dropped Sylvan-Lucas to 5-1 and Logan/Palco to 2-5.
Everything came up roses for Sylvan-Lucas against Logan/Palco when the teams last played back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 52-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sylvan-Lucas since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
