Basketball Recap: North Stafford Comes Up Short

North Stafford came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They were outmatched by the Massaponax Panthers and fell 62-24. While losing is never fun, the Wolverines can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 273rd, while the Panthers are ranked 115th).

Leading Massaponax to victory were Collin Bowles and Alonzo Bowler. Bowles went 6-for-11 from beyond the arc on his way to 18 points, while Bowler posted 16 points. Another player making a difference was Christian Hooks, who scored eight points.

North Stafford's loss dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Massaponax, their victory bumped their record up to 12-9.

Coincidentally, North Stafford and Massaponax will both be playing Stafford the next time they take the court. North Stafford will host Stafford at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while Massaponax will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
