Softball Game Preview: Stewarts Creek Red Hawks vs. Wilson Central Wildcats

The Stewarts Creek Red Hawks will challenge the Wilson Central Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Stewarts Creek will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Stewarts Creek is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitchers stepped up to hand LaVergne a 22-0 shutout on Monday. Considering the Red Hawks have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Jadyn Brawley was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, she posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Kloe Quigle was incredible, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had over her last five matchups. Another player making a difference was Addison Brawley, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Stewarts Creek kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Wilson Central fell victim to Creek Wood and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They fell just short of the Red Hawks by a score of 1-0. The Wildcats' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Stewarts Creek pushed their record up to 17-5-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Wilson Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-9.

Stewarts Creek took their win against Wilson Central when the teams last played two weeks ago by a conclusive 7-1 score. Do the Red Hawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
