Hesston Wins Sixth-Straight Thanks to Karter Gonzalez

Karter Gonzalez's big game helped extend Hesston's winning streak to six on Friday. Gonzalez rushed for 232 yards and five touchdowns on only 15 carries, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. His longest rush was for an impressive 53 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

Hesston's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-0. Gonzalez and Hesston will be playing at home against Riley County on Friday.

Wray Posts Huge Game in 49-7 Victory

Winning always takes teamwork, but on Friday Nash Wray stepped things up a notch to give Haven the 'W'. Belle Plaine had no answer to Wray as he threw for 197 yards and four touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes, and also rushed for 62 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries.

For the season, Wray has thrown 13 touchdowns (and and only 2 picks) while averaging 159.8 passing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after six games last season, he had seven passing touchdowns.

Creed Made His Presence Known in Halstead's 31-13 Win

Winning always takes teamwork, but on Friday Braxton Creed stepped things up a notch to give Halstead the 'W'. Creed was unstoppable, rushing for 67 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries, while also throwing for 137 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes.

Halstead's victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-4. Creed and Halstead will square off against Southeast of Saline at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Taye Wilson Turns in Another Game with at Least Two Rushing Touchdowns

Taye Wilson continued his hot streak on Friday by dropping his fifth-straight game (dating back to last season) with at least two rushing touchdowns. He rushed for 102 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries, and also picked up 43 receiving yards.

On the season, Wilson has run in 13 touchdowns while averaging 126.7 rushing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he was only averaging 49.33 rushing yards per game.

Teron Kraft Turns in Season-Best Effort

Hoisington was led to victory by Teron Kraft, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Kraft rushed for 118 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry. The performance marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in November of 2023. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, forcing a fumble and making six total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Unfortunately for Lakin, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Kraft. Kraft rushed for 104 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries the last time he and the Broncs duked it out back in October of 2023.
