Basketball Recap: Round Top-Carmine Cubs vs. McDade Bulldogs
The Round Top-Carmine Cubs waltzed into their matchup on Friday with seven straight wins but they left with eight. They blew past McDade 56-35. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Round Top-Carmine also won the last time the pair played back in January.
When it comes to explaining why McDade lost, one person who can't be blamed is Alexis Pacheco. Despite the final result, she dropped a triple-double on 16 points, ten rebounds, and 11 steals. Lauren Glosson was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Round Top-Carmine pushed their record up to 10-4 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for McDade, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost 11 of their last 13 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.
Round Top-Carmine will be playing at home against the Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fayetteville will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for McDade, they will head out on the road to square off against the Badgers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Buckholts and five for the Bulldogs.
