Houlka suffers 12th straight loss at home

Recap: Houlka Wildcats vs. Vardaman Rams

This season hasn't been kind to the Houlka Wildcats, who are still winless after their 17th game. They took a hard 34-15 fall against Vardaman on Tuesday. Houlka found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and post ten fewer assists than your opponent.

Despite the loss, Houlka still got an impressive performance from Destiny Foster, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds.

Leading Vardaman to victory were Kamri Jones and Addie Lucius. Jones scored nine points along with 11 rebounds and four blocks, while Lucius scored nine points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Lucius has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Tatina Cousins was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with two steals.

Houlka's defeat was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-17. As for Vardaman, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Houlka will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Ashland at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Vardaman, they will be playing at home against Okolona at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Okolona is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.
