Basketball Recap: Warren Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Warren lost to Bellflower on January 8th, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Warren Bears secured a 59-53 W over the Bellflower Buccaneers. Winning may never get old, but the Bears sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Warren to victory, but perhaps none more so than King Johnson, who went 8 for 18 en route to 19 points and six boards. Johnson's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jay'Mari Redmond, who went 6 of 12 on his way to 13 points and three steals.

Warren has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 13-10 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points per game. As for Bellflower, the loss snapped their winning streak at 11 games and leaves them with a 17-8 record.

Warren and Bellflower should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Warren (ranked 437th) will meet Paramount (ranked 1084th) at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Warren is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.4 points per game this season. Similarly, Bellflower will take on Norwalk at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday up 366 places (247 vs. 613).
