Softball Recap: St. John Continues Road Dominance on Tuesday

St. John barely beat Bristol the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Fighting Herald put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 15-5 victory on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Fighting Herald in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won three in a row.

Rylee Frasure was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Selina Park also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: St. John kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.7 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 16.2.

St. John's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-4. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Bristol, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-9-1 record this season.

St. John has already played their next game (against Pymatuning Valley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Bristol, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 13-2 defeat against Badger on the 14th.
