Basketball Recap: Negaunee Takes a Loss

Negaunee lost against Iron Mountain back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Negaunee Miners took a 50-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Iron Mountain Mountaineers. The Miners have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Negaunee's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 8-5. As for Iron Mountain, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-2.

Negaunee will be playing in front of their home fans against Manistique at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Iron Mountain, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Westwood at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Westwood is on a five-game streak of home wins, Iron Mountain a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
