Football Recap: Hillcrest Comes Up Short

Hillcrest extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 1-5. They took a blow against the West Panthers, falling 79-14. The Huskies were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 65-8.

As for West, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-1. The contest marked their most dominant win of the season.

A big part of West's victory came down to the chemistry between Kamden Lopati and his top target Louie Hamilton. Lopati rushed for 67 yards and three touchdowns on only six carries while Hamilton rushed for 147 yards and four TDs on only 11 carries. Thanks to that big game, Hamilton is now up to 13 rushing touchdowns on the season. Mani Tu'Uao was another key player, gaining 133 total yards and two touchdowns.

Hillcrest has already played their next matchup, a 48-20 loss against West Jordan on the 26th. As for West, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 70-6 win against Taylorsville on the 26th.
