Softball Game Preview: Sweet Home Huskies vs. Cascade Cougars

Sweet Home is 1-9 against Cascade since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Huskies will host the Cougars at 5:00 p.m. The contest will give Sweet Home their first taste of in-conference action this season.

Last Monday, Sweet Home came up short against Philomath and fell 9-5.

Meanwhile, Cascade put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past North Marion 22-10. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won seven games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Amyah Miranda was a standout: she went a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Those five hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Malia Scanlan, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI.

Cascade's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-0. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their hitting performance: the team's won by an average of 8.2 runs thus far. As for Sweet Home, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.
