Basketball Recap: Mastery Takes a Loss

Mastery suffered their biggest loss since January 22nd on Thursday. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Bridgeton Bulldogs an easy 79-54 win. The Warrior have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Mastery saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ezequeil Cosme posted 15 points. Dixson Dowayee was another key player, putting up six points along with eight boards and five blocks.

Jameell Purnell had a dynamite game for Bridgeton, shooting 4-for-5 from long range and dropping a double-double on 52 points and 16 rebounds. Purnell's evening made it 11 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyion Gray, who posted 14 points and four steals.

Mastery now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Bridgeton, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Mastery didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 63-45 victory against Oakcrest on the 20th. As for Bridgeton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 47-38 win against Cumberland on the 21st.
