Softball Recap: Lawrenceville Comes Up Short

If Lawrenceville was riding high fresh off their 12-0 takedown of Dugger Union on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Indians fell just short of the Fairfield Mules by a score of 4-3 on Saturday. The defeat continues a trend for the Indians in their meetings with the Mules: they've now lost five in a row.

Erin Harris was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Griggs, who earned one RBI, one run, and one stolen base.

Lawrenceville's loss dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Fairfield, their victory bumped their record up to 11-13.

Looking ahead, Lawrenceville will square off against Hutsonville/Palestine at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday. As for Fairfield, they will challenge Johnston City at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
