Basketball Recap: Crimson Cliffs Extends Home Winning Streak to Five

There's no place like home for Crimson Cliffs, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They walked away with a 49-41 victory over the Snow Canyon Warriors on Friday. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while the Warriors are ranked 88th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Crimson Cliffs' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Briton Phillips led the charge by going 5 for 7 en route to 11 points. Another player making a difference was Drake Carroll, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 10 points.

Despite the loss, Snow Canyon still got an impressive performance from Reggie Mackay, who posted 17 points and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Issaiah Thompson, who put up ten points.

Crimson Cliffs' win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-6. As for Snow Canyon, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crimson Cliffs will host Dixie at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Crimson Cliffs is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.2 points per game this season. As for Snow Canyon, they will face off against Pine View at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Pine View also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 57.2 points per game.
