Softball Recap: Dirigo's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Dirigo had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.2 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Monday. They blew past the Spruce Mountain Phoenix 11-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 20-3 last Friday.

Dirigo pushed their record up to 6-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Spruce Mountain, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-5.

Dirigo didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 13-5 win against Madison on the 20th. As for Spruce Mountain, they will take on Lisbon at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Phoenix's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Greyhounds have averaged an impressive 10.6 runs per game this season.
